Four months ago, I asked you a question in the least romantic setting I could've picked — a parking lot, both of us still full from dinner, my heart beating way faster than I let on. It wasn't some big movie moment, and I know it's not exactly the place you'd have chosen. But it didn't need to be perfect, because you said yes, and that's still the best word anyone's ever said to me.

In the months since, I've fallen for you again and again, like each one gave me a new reason to. I fell for you at a masquerade on an old, haunted ship, surrounded by masks and candlelight while we both pretended not to be nervous. I fell for you even harder at the aquarium, standing in front of that huge glowing tank, the blue light on your face, my heart pounding so loud I was sure you could hear it — until I couldn't hold it in anymore and told you I loved you.

But it was another night entirely that got me completely — after dinner, after our first kiss, when I felt a warmth and a closeness I'd never felt before. A spark, unmistakable, and the quiet certainty that I had fallen all the way for the person in front of me. I still haven't recovered, and I don't want to.
